HUEYTOWN FOOTBALL

A Tradition Since 1921

FUNDRAISERS

Each year, the football program at Hueytown High School  holds 4 major fundraisers.  Thanks to revenue received from these few fundraisers each year, we are able to provide nice uniforms, cleats, practice apparel, camps, pre- and post-game meals to the players as well as other various benefits.  Coach Smith has earmarked funds from each fundraiser to cover certain things.   An extensive weight program is essential to a successful football program, and in order to have a competitive program at our school much equipment is needed.

It is so important to have support from businesses and the community to spare the football players the burden of costly expense of playing the sport of football.  Your sponsorship goes directly to supporting our program in many different areas. We are striving to provide the very best in facilities and equipment for our players and coaches.  Please help support these players during fundraiser events.

FOOTBALL PROGRAM

The football program revenue pays for expenses for senior night, the annual banquet at the end of the season, and various achievement awards given throughout the season.

THEN AND NOW SECTION OF FOOTBALL PROGRAM - Over the last couple of years in the program, we have included a section for then-and-now photos to highlight the football tradition in Hueytown.  These nostalgic pages have been a big hit among Hueytown football fans and we're constantly being asked about this by people wanting to be included in this section.  If you or your children are involved with Friday Night Football (players, band, cheerleaders, etc.) and have family members who were involved in the past (parents, grandparents, brothers/sisters, aunts/uncles), we'd love to include photos to show how much of a tradition Hueytown Football is/has been in this community.  So....drag out those old yearbooks and scan or copy those pictures to send in.  Can't find your yearbook?  Check with a friend or visit the Hueytown Library.  Roxanne Crane will be coordinating these pages and needs all of the pictures by July 31.  She can accept these via e-mail or hard copies.

Be sure to include names and graduation year for each photo.  If any questions, please contact Roxanne at teacher75@bellsouth.net or 491-2059.   We can obtain current year photos taken on picture day (Aug 2 for players

and cheerleaders) directly from Belmont -- but we need to know the name and year for that student as well to associate with the other pictures you send in.  THERE IS NO COST FOR BEING INCLUDED IN THIS SECTION!

SEASON PASS PACKAGES - The season passes will be available August  1, 2008 and valid through July 31, 2009.  Package cost is $100 and includes two individual season passes to all regular season home games (including Varsity, JV and Freshmen games), free parking at stadium, one football program and two quarterback club memberships.  Add-on children's passes are $25.  Individual and family quarterback club memberships  are also available for $15 and $25 respectively. Click here for quarterback club membership forms.

CASH PARTY EVENT

The cash party is our biggest fundraiser and takes a tremendous amount of volunteer support to succeed.  Coaches and quarterback club members sell a limited number of tickets for a chance to win $10,000.  Tickets for this reverse-drawing event include a nice dinner for two, fun fellowship, great door prizes and opportunities to participate in several raffles during the night.  A cash prize is also given for every 50th ticket drawn.  Click here to see pictures and a list of winners from our last cash party event held on April 5, 2008.  Proceeds from this huge event covers camps during the year and new football equipment.

THANKS TO OUR 2008 CASH PARTY SPONSORS!

The Hueytown Quarterback Club would like to convey a very special “Thank You” to the following businesses that have donated prize money and/or door prizes for the cash party fundraiser.  Please remember to thank them by shopping or doing business with them whenever possible and let them know you appreciate their support of our football program.  We would also like to thank everyone who purchased a Cash Party ticket as well.

GOLD CARD SALES

The Gold Card fundraiser occurs in the late summer.  The Gold Cards are discount  cards (wallet size) offering great deals and discounts with local businesses.  This year, each player is being asked to sell at least 6 cards which cost $20 each.  Money received from this fundraiser will cover sweats for the team, upgrade equipment and miscellaneous expenses throughout the year.

LIFT-A-THON

Lift-a-thon is held in April each year to coincide with spring workouts. It consists of each athlete's maximum effort in three weight-lifting events:  the Bench, Squat, and Dead Lift.  Each player is encouraged to solicit monetary pledges for number of pounds of all three lifts.  Example: if the donation is one cent per pound, and the typical athlete squats 360 pounds, benches 200 pounds and dead lifts 360 pounds, the donation will be in the amount of $9.20.  Money received from this fundraiser covers new cleats, practice shorts and shirts for varsity players in the upcoming season.

OTHER REVENUE OPPORTUNITIES

ADT Security Systems is offering an opportunity for our program to profit from new customer accounts.  If you are looking to install a new security system in your home or business, please check out this company.  For each new account established, the quarterback club will receive $125.  Click here for more information about ADT Security Systems.  The referral code to use for credit back to the quarterback club is A24815.
